Above we have a representation of a cylinder. How do we find its surface area?

Surface Area of a Cylinder

The surface area of a cylinder is found by the equation:

So, for our cylinder:

Surface Area = (2 * 3.14 * 3^2) + (2 * 3.14 * 3 * 8)

Surface Area = 56.52 + 150.72

Surface Area = 207.24
