Factors are two (or more) whole numbers that are multiplied to form a product.

Take the value "2".

"2" has two factors, 2 and 1.

It's easy to find the factors of small numbers, but it gets more complicated as numbers get larger.

Factor Pairs

For more complex numbers, Factor Pairs can be used to find all factors of a number.

Let's use a table to find all the factor pairs of "36":
