Systems of Equations

Two or more equations put together are called Systems of Equations.

Below, we have a system of equations:

4x + 2y = 8

3x + 2y = 6

Sometimes, subtracting one equation from the other will allow you to remove a variable, and then solve for the remaining variable. This is called Elimination by Subtraction.

Now that we know "x", we can use this information to solve for "y".
